1. Introduction

WiFi FTP Offline Server is an Android application that allows users to transfer files wirelessly between an Android device and a PC or laptop using a local Wi-Fi network. The application functions as a local FTP server and enables file transfer without USB cables or cloud-based services.

The app is designed primarily for local and offline use. File transfers occur only within the same local network (LAN). The app does not require user registration, login, or account creation. Users have full control to manually start or stop the FTP server at any time.

2. App Functionality

To use the app, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, router, or mobile hotspot. Once the server is started, the app displays a local IP address and port number that can be accessed from a PC or laptop using an FTP client, file manager, or compatible browser.

The app is intended for personal file management and transfer on trusted private networks. Use on public or unsecured Wi-Fi networks is not recommended.

3. Data Collection & Privacy Practices

WiFi FTP Offline Server does not require user accounts and does not collect personal information such as name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location data.

File access is performed only when initiated by the user for the purpose of transferring files. The app does not analyze, index, or store file contents, and no copies of files are retained after transfer is completed.

All file transfers remain within the local network. The app does not perform background file uploads, cloud synchronization, or remote access.

4. Permissions & Their Purpose

4.1 Storage Access

The app requests storage permissions (including MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE where applicable) solely to support core functionality, allowing users to select, view, upload, and download files between their Android device and a connected PC/Laptop.

Key points:

• Storage access is enabled only when the user manually starts the FTP server

• No background scanning or automatic file access occurs

• All operations are user-initiated and local to the device

4.2 Network Permissions

The app uses ACCESS_WIFI_STATE and INTERNET permissions to detect the local IP address and establish a connection between devices on the same network.

Internet access is not required for file transfer.

Internet permission is used only to load advertisements, if ads are shown.

4.3 Foreground Service & Notifications

The FOREGROUND_SERVICE permission ensures the FTP server remains active during file transfers when the app is minimized.

The POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission is used to display a persistent notification indicating that the server is running and providing a STOP option so the user can terminate the server instantly.

5. Advertising

The app may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.

Ads load only when internet access is available

No ads are shown during offline use

AdMob may collect limited, anonymous advertising data in accordance with Google’s policies

The app does not share user files or personal data with advertisers

6. Security & User Responsibility

File transfers occur only over the local network. Password protection is available, and anonymous access is optional. Users are responsible for securing their Wi-Fi network and FTP credentials.

7. Age Restriction

This application is intended for users 18 years of age or older, or users who understand file handling and local network usage. It is not designed for children.

Enabling anonymous access is done at the user’s own risk.

4. Permissions
